Hi Ben, nice to have u here.
Do you know roughly how many percent of people have moved in?
I think we need to setup a meet up session soon with all the residents, and start getting things done or at least our voices heard, especially about the internet.

Introducing Myself
Hi, my name is Siew Peng. My unit is in block B. I chanced to come into this forum a couple of days ago and am thankful for your initiative in setting up this forum.
I have gone through the thread and what a difference it can make when we collectively share and care.

Preparation for the AGM is important so that when the jmb comes in, everything that should be there, be there and things that should not be there, shouldn't be there.
Here are a few things that I think we should all look into for a start:
1. the lifts (it take ages to come even at this time when population density is at its lowest) 2. cctv (isn't that part and parcel of "security"?) 3. security (untrained) 4. Car parking lots. (do not understand the system or manner the allotment is handled. Queer or insensitive?)
To establish the right culture should be from the beginning. That is my belief. :-)
Caring and sharing will make Covillea a home everyone looks forward to returning. Also my belief. :-))

Hi all, anyone can advise me? I'm a foreigner who bought a unit for home stay. I have signed the S&P and the bank loan has been approved. I have also collected the keys from my legal firm. At the moment now pending this government approval (was told to be around 3 months) since I'm a foreigner.
I would like to seek anyone's advice and who had the same experience:
1) How long does it normally takes for this approval from government since I'm a foreigner?
2) Can I start renovating my house now as I would like to move in as early as possible. I was told that my legal firm should issue a memo to the developer to transfer the ex-owner to my name since I'm the new owner.
3) Any other information that I should know...?
Appreciate anyone's advice. Thanks so much and hope to know all the fellow residents soon.

We are at the bank approval stage (still long way to go ya ) We are foreigner, but staying in malaysia for about 6 years already. This is our 2nd property. As I know, to get the government consent letter will take about 1 mth.

Hi Veria, thanks for your reply and it only takes one month for government approval? Because I was informed it takes around 3 months or longer. But since you are foreigner, we are in the same situation - so hopefully it takes about a month.

Ms Siew's area of practice includes conveyancing, commercial and corporate matters. She speaks on the subject of property law for property developers and property investors. I do not know her personally but was at her talk at the recent KLCC property exhibition and bought her book "Smart Property Investors KNOW The Law". Ms Siew can be reached at elizabeth@ihsvsel.com.my or lizsiew.silverpen@gmail.com. All the best.
