alamak, how come after pot luck, no more updates in this already quiet forum?
first off, many thanks to organisers. my famiy and myself have a jolly good time. luckily on the way there, we bought some papa john pizzas. otherwise, food might not be enough.
was wonderful to meet with some of you. do keep up the excellent job of maintaining covillea to be one of the best residence among the others.
have a great 2014 covilleans!

Thanks for the kind reminder Tai Kor Kochin :-)
Truthfully, almost towards the end of the party, I was wondering, how come there are so many boxes of pizza.
But I do know for a certainty you would never come empty handed. Thanks Kochin.
There was food overflowing because of the generosity and care of each fellow Covillean.
I had been wanting to get on to the forum the night the party was over but exhaustion overtook me. I didn't sleep well that night, partly because of the excitement of achieving the goal of getting together for the first time. Another reason was my old bones were telling me not to overwork them. You know fellow Covilleans, I pound all those small onions, serai, etc, etc, etc all by myself... using right hand, then left hand then right hand. The comfort was I now lay patent right to that dish ... "Ala Laksa Chicken". :-))
Before I drone on further, I deeply wish to express my profound gratitude to the following. They are in no particular order:
Carmen (Mrs Lim). She was so organized, ensuring enough paper plates, cups, chopsticks, forks, spoons, tissue paper. Even rubbish bags when I informed her there was no need to buy. She was at the table throughout to ensure everything wass well taken care of. How could I do without you, Carmen?
Elaine, Amy and Jane. All three of you did a wonderful job to ensure no hiccups at the table. Amy came down immediately when she saw my daughter and I arranging the chairs. When she found the chairs were dirty, went up to her unit again to get a pail of water and rag to clean up the chairs. Elaine, Amy and Jane, you were very thorough in ensuring we leave the place neat and tidy when the party was over. Thank you so much, my great friends.
Shortly after my daughter and I reached, Joel Boey came down to help. Thank you so much for volunteering to be the photographer at the last minute. And of course your wife did a wonderful job with the camera too. Your readiness to help really touched my heart deeply. Thank you to you both.
Ray, was the person who initiated the get together. Ray has never said no whenever I needed help. He came down quickly bringing his speakers, mike etc. He was supposed to be the MC that evening. But we could not get any connection and so the plan had to be aborted. Ray works very fast and readies himself to help whenever the need arises. Without any hesitation, he went up immediately to get a pail of water and a rag to clean up the chairs before the arrival of fellow Covilleans. Thanks too for posting the photos on facebook. The photos were already up when I reached home. Thanks for bringing your parents and your charming, sweet, jovial gf to add to the merriment. I love her too.
It was the first time I saw smiles and laughter from Ms Tan Shih Ming, our JMB committee member. Your smiles light up the evening. Your smiles and laughter warm my heart. Thanks Ming. Thanks too for bringing your two lovely children and Saya to enjoy with us. I took home your yummy kueh. Oo la la very nice.
Mr & Mrs Chew (Susan). Susan's infectious laughter not only tickled my bones. You made me laugh non stop. You know, your Beef Rendang was the first dish to be finished off....much to my envy. Your husband says you have many favorite dishes. I will pass this info to the next party organiser. Hahaha.
Mr. Sam San, thanks so much for your generosity and your quick response to requests. Thanks for the grand finale "Lou Sang".
Mr. Chee, thank you so much for taking extra effort to be with us.
Mr. Quah and family, thank you for taking the time to share in the fun and enjoyment.
Even Ms Maggie Tan, who had a dinner appointment, came to be with us for a short while and had to rush off, showed that she cared enough to have precious time with us. Thank you.
And our Chairman, the ever vibrant, enthusiastic, energetic, young man, Mr. How who looked into every nitty, gritty detail to ensure the party a resounding success. Thank you very much Mr. How.
Our JMB, led by example. Despite their busy schedule, they did all they could to ensure that they serve with passion and purpose. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Mr. and Mrs Michael Pua and family. Thank you so much for making every effort to come and come with a huge Marble Cake. Your easy going nature certainly add to the merriment.
Mr Cheah, thank you for joining us. I was glad that you had enjoyed yourself.
Mr and Mrs Cha, my ever helpful neighbours. Thank you for your enthusiasm in contributing to the wellbeing of our lovely Covillea. Your sausages were very tasty and creatively displayed. Thank you very much.
Mr. Hong's kind words "If I cannot contribute in labour, I will contribute in kind". Thanks for the Lou Sang, Mr. Hong.
Mr. & Mrs. Foo kind and encouraging words. You remind me of what Mother Teresa says 'Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.' Thank you.
Mr. & Mrs JV. Your sushi were very professionally done. Delicious. Thank you very much.
Mr & Mrs Kam (Winnie). You were a great help too. How can I do without you both too? Thank you very much.
Evonne Sia and family. Thank you for the lovely pizza.
Mr & Mrs Isaac, thank you for coming early to help and your contribution.
I must never forget Ms Woo. She was celebrating her daughter's 2 years old birthday and hosting a party at her home. She had told me that she would not be able to come but will bring a butter cake for all of us. Ms Woo, I am truly touched. Thank you very much.
Mr. Steven Leong, thank you for your contribution. Hope that the evening had been fun and enjoyable for you.
Ms Jenny Phang, thanks for joining us and your creatively displayed fruits.
Of course Mr. & Mrs Tsubasa (Mr.& Mrs. Ben) and their little bundle of joy. I know that you waited to know what was needed for the party before you confirm. Thanks for the sweet thought. Mrs. Ben, I love what you told me, "Next time, rope him (husband) in to help for future events. I will support him." I will never forget this, Mrs. Ben. Thank you very much
Irene, you are such a blessing. Thank you for your ever prompt response and support.
And my daughters, Jocelyn and Roslyn who are always my pillars of support. I thank you both and I love you both.
I sincerely hope I have not missed out any one. If I do, I ask to be forgiven.
Without all of you and the Organizing Team, this gathering would never have succeeded. I live with the contentment that everyone enjoyed the evening. This is the greatest reward to us, the Organizing Team
The party has ended. But let us nurture the spirit of togetherness to live on in our hearts, knowing that we need one another to make this place, our lovely Covillea the primer condo, not only in Kuala Lumpur, but throughout Malaysia. Let us ALL make it so.
Warmly, Organizing Team

I knew I would forget something.
I wish to add that the following showed how much they cared and how much it means to be a Covillean:
Kim (Kitti) came when we were almost at the end of the party. She had informed earlier that she would not be able to come as she was heading south during that period of time. She had just reached and came to say hello to us. Kim, thanks for making the extra effort. Nevermind, there will always be another time.
All have left except for me and my daughters as we were sorting out how to carry the things to our car. Mr. & Mrs Kuek came and apologize that they couldn't come because they were hosting a party at home. Their last guest has just left and they came down immediately to thank the Organizing Team for the work done. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Quek. Your kind words melt our hearts. Thank you.
Kind regards, Organizing Team

Thanks Tai Kor Kochin.
I AM YOUR FAN.
I always enjoy reading your postings, be they in our Covillea Residents' Forum or Low Yat's Forum. Though I had yet to meet you in person, the short and sweet postings reflect on a person genuinely sharing his thoughts, his knowledge and a person full of compassion.
I truly believe with all my heart that fellow COVILLEANS genuinely care for one another. If they have not been expressive, they are probably racing for time. They is always so much to do and hardly enough time for everything to be done to our satisfaction. Giving an opportunity everyone wants to chip in to make COVILLEA - HEAVEN ON EARTH.
In closing, I would like to share a quote I chanced upon yesterday. It is from Abraham Lincoln. To paraphrase, "It's surprising how much we can accomplish if we don't care who gets the credit".
Keeping all COVILLEANS in my thoughts.
